Services and prices

Here is everything, with the numbers attached.

Most businesses keep pricing to a phone call. This page does not: below is the complete list of services, what each one costs, and what affects the price. If your situation is not listed, describe it and I will provide a price.

The everyday rate

Hourly help, for whatever it turns out to be.

Printers that will not print, email that will not send, a machine behaving strangely: the everyday issues that otherwise take up an afternoon. No package, no minimum commitment, no contract. If a job on the list below fits better, I will tell you and charge the flat rate instead.

Describe the problem

  • Remote, over a screen share$95 / hr
  • On site$125 / hr
  • Minimum, remote30 minutes
  • Minimum, on site1 hour
  • Travel inside St. Charles CountyNo charge
  • Beyond about 20 milesQuoted up front
  • Prepaid block of 5 hours$450
  • Prepaid block of 10 hours$850

Evenings and weekends are the standard working hours here, not an after hours premium, because that is when I am available. Prepaid hours are valid for twelve months and are refundable if unused.

For your business

The things that quietly cost money: a backup that has never been restored, a network that was never designed, and hours each week spent rebuilding the same report by hand.

Everyday help, home or office

The everyday requests: machines that have gotten slow, wifi that drops, or a new computer that needs to be set up properly with everything moved across.

AI on your own business data

Connect an assistant to the systems your business actually runs on, so it answers questions about your business rather than the internet. Read-only to begin with, so nothing it can access can be changed by it.

Builds and installs

You purchase the parts, so the warranty is in your name and the receipt is yours. I specify the components, build it, test it, and hand it over ready to use.

How the pricing works

Four things worth knowing before you look at the pricing below.

Ranges are ranges for a reason

The exact number depends on how many machines and people are involved, and the condition of the equipment once I take a look. The bottom of a range is a real price someone has paid, not a number chosen to sound appealing. You receive the exact figure in writing before I start, and it does not change afterward unless you request additional work.

Nothing starts before you say yes

Estimates are free, with no obligation attached. If I review a job and determine it is not worth doing, or that someone else would do it better, I will tell you that directly instead of providing a quote.

Parts are yours, labour is mine

On builds and installs, you purchase the hardware, so the warranty and receipt are in your name and you are not paying a markup on the components. I charge for specifying, building, configuring, and documenting the system.

No contracts, and no surprise renewals

Monthly services are billed month to month. Cancel at any time, and I will provide everything needed for another provider to take over. Prepaid flat rate work is refunded in full if I have to cancel on you.

A note on availability. This business runs alongside a full time job. Work is evenings and weekends, scheduled in advance. There is no 24/7 line, no same-day business-hours service, and no monitoring plan claiming round-the-clock coverage. I would rather state that clearly now than fall short of a promise later.

Not sure which of these you need?

That is common, and you are not expected to know. Describe the problem in your own words and I will tell you what it takes and what it costs, before you spend anything.
